Strategies of Transition

Year | 2001
Location | Brezoi, Romania
Client | Foundation for Local Development in Brezoi, and the Redesign Studio (Paris)

Communication Space’ was a project concerned with attempting to understand and relate the issues affecting two communities in two completely different contexts. These communities, Foxhill in Sheffield and Brezoi in Romania, formed the basis of a year long studio project, of which the live project visit to Brezoi constituted the first part.

The aim of this first visit and the live project was to establish links and communications with the town, which is endeavouring to initiate its economic, social and spatial regeneration after the collapse of communism and its timber industry. The project was set-up in partnership with the Foundation for Local Development in Brezoi, and the Redesign Studio (Paris).
