The Live Project Team worked closely with OpHouse, a collective established in 2020, to engage the local community and prospective residents in the transformation of a vacant care home in York into an affordable, tiny homes, co-housing development. The team hosted an exhibition during York Design Week to gain community insight and used research from this to produce three useful booklets to inform people about co-housing, propose future community facilities for the building and engage potential residents.
Our proposals look to create a community connection between the buildings and organisations through the enhanced facilities whilst aiding the aspirations and bids for both building’s futures.
